One of the things that’s been puzzling me is all the conflicting claims around High Frequency Trading (HFT). Depending upon what you read, or who you talk to, HFT is either the scourge of capital markets or the next evolution of finance. That’s why it seemed like an ideal subject for the first episode of FragVision – the new video channel from Fidessa. With each episode we plan to bring you further analysis of what’s happening in capital markets as regulation and innovation continue to impact our daily lives.
If you have any ideas for topics you’d like to see covered, or if you would like to appear in a future episode, then just email the FragVision team. In any case, let us know what you think.
Happy viewing!

Great first episode of Frag Vision. It supplemented your initial blog on the subject nicely.
I’d be interested in your views on the primary exchange tie-ups that have recently been announced. Obviously the big one Deutsche Börse and Euronext springs to mind immediately. Your views on how this affects MiFID2 and further fragmentation would be interesting. What does this mean for the little guys and is the initial purpose of the directive in danger of getting lost?
I’d be very keen to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Hi George – glad you liked it. We dealt with most of the issues you suggested in our second episode of FragVision. We’re now working on Episode 3 so watch this space!
